Outdoor learning is increasingly seen as an entitlement for children and young people, yet can be difficult to organise. A most useful solution is to use an Outdoor Centre.
Outdoor Learning Centres
Various organisations operate Outdoor Learning Centres, which are widely used by schools as keyparts of their annual curriculum. Residential and day activities include Environmental Education, P7-S1 Transition, Leadership courses, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, etc:

The Vine Trust http://www.vinetrust.org/education/ has a Centre for Global Education in Leith which unusually is on a barge! A variety of excellent lessons is available. The Vine Trust has also been organising overseas trips for schools since 2007. It also organises the highly respected Global Student Forum.
